Michelin Guide and IDEO co-hosted the first Food Forward event, an open conversation about culinary excellence. On July 4, 2017, an all-day immersive experience around the design of the food ecosystem in China was held at the Shanghai Expo I-Pavilion.
We created a platform to connect the global leaders surrounding the food industry. We brought chefs, artisans, entrepreneurs, educators, designers, and industry stakeholders together to join us in an exploration where we facilitated a dialogue about moving food forward.
There were three keynote speakers (Vicky Lau, Professor Rongguang Zhao, Paul Pairet). We presented four thought-provoking forums:
1. Reconciliation: pioneering without sacrificing tradition
2. Knowledge and Legacy: great food culture thrives on openness
3. Giving Credit: celebrating the uncelebrated
4. Inspiration from Analogs: insights from other industry leaders
This was a day of narration. Storytellers shared their hearts. Chefs plated their memories and experiences.
